Understanding Substance Use Disorder

Substance Use Disorder or Addiction, is defined as a pattern of uncontrolled use of substances such as alcohol, prescription medications, and illegal drugs such as cocaine. It often starts as an attempt to cope with stress, trauma, or mental health challenges. Over time, however, substance use can take control, disrupting daily life and impacting not just the individual but also family, friends, and loved ones.

Addiction is not a sign of weakness but a treatable disorder. You are not alone, MBH is here to provide guidance and support.

Our Approach to Substance Use Disorder Counseling at MBH

Recovery begins with a compassionate assessment to understand your needs, followed by an Intensive Addiction Treatment Program designed to focus on treatment and healing in an outpatient setting. Our services include:

  • Individual Counseling - Private, one-on-one sessions to help you explore the underlying causes of addiction and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Group Addiction Services - Connect with others who share similar experiences, build accountability, and receive encouragement in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. With a ratio of one counselor to no more than 12 individuals, these interventions have proven to be effective addiction treatment options. Group treatment is based on the client's needs.
  • Aftercare and Relapse Prevention - Life after treatment can bring new challenges. We provide ongoing support and resources to help you stay committed to your wellness journey.
